For those considered a possible COVID-19 case, secondary public health zones have been set up in order to make certain to connect you with a medical facility that is set up to treat the disease. 

Please call one of the consultation hotlines below before you do anything.

Consultation Hotlines/Centers for Possible COVID-19 Cases 

If you have the following symptoms, please call one of the hotlines listed below.

1. You feel lethargic (very tired), have shortness of breath (respiratory difficulties), high fever, etc.

2. If you have a fever or cough and are at higher risk due to several factors such as old age, diabetes, severe cardiac conditions, chronic lung disease (COPD, etc.), and other pre-existing conditions, are undergoing dialysis, taking immune system weakening medications, or are undergoing cancer treatments, etc.  

3. If you are experiencing light flu-like symptoms and do not qualify for the above.
(Please call and consult the hotline if symptoms lasts for more than 4 days, including having to frequently take cold/antipyretic medicine. As symptoms may vary by individual, please contact the hotline immediately if you feel your symptoms are severe.)

For questions or concerns not limited to the coronavirus situation in Iwate, but also about daily life, visa issues, etc. please contact the Iwate Support Center for Foreign Residents located in Aiina 5th Floor.

They are taking questions related to the novel coronavirus – call here first if you think you have symptoms and can’t speak Japanese.
